DOGS:  Adoption Interest

It has been stated a number of times that rescue gets all the "good" dogs and because of this some shelters (like KCAC) have not allowed rescue to pull dogs if 1. there's a public adoption interest in the dog or 2. the shelter wants to put the dog up for adoption themselves.

The bar graph above shows the number of dogs euthanized that were impounded each month.

The public takes more dogs out of the shelter than rescue.

The public adopts more NORMAL dogs than rescue does.

Rescue however, takes more dogs with issues and health problems.

The public adopts more popular breeds than rescue can take. Here are some listed to show the comparison.
Again, this is covering a 12 month period (Oct05-Sep06).
