Call was returned to confirm Division Chief Haynes understands the request and what it asks for.
Because she's working on a similar request, she felt there should be no problem in making

Email TO Denise Haynes:
I just wanted to remind you that per our phone conversation on May 16, 2006, you promised to respond within the 10 days as required.
That response is now overdue and the clock is still ticking, available for everyone to see. (a link to the above days elapsed timer was provided)
- June 09, 2006
Email FROM Denise Haynes:
Attached is the information you have requested.
As a matter of clarification, the law requires that I inform you within 10 days whether or not I will be responding to your request.
I did let you know within the 10 days that I would be responding. There is no deadline as to when I must send the information.
Each of these animals was impounded into either the Bakersfield, Mojave or Lake Isabella shelter.
They are all part of the Kern County Animal Control system. We do not enter animals using a shelter ID, I can not provide that information to you.
I hope you find the attached useful for your study.
ADDITIONAL NOTESActually, shelterID's are being used to differentiate between Mojave and Bakersfield shelters on the Petharbor.com website. The shelterID's used are KERN (for Bakersfield) and KERN1 (for Mojave).

Mr. Jensen. Pet Harbor uploads our information every 4 hours. We have no control over that time schedule. My staff takes photos of animals on intake and those are uploaded at the very next upload from Pet Harbor. Therefore, animals off loaded at noon are up on the web by close of business same day. Animals off loaded at end of day are posted by the next morning.
I do have both of your requests for information for 2003 and 2004. I am here this week only 3, maybe even 2 days and then will not return until August 22nd. I will undoubtedly have many competing priorities upon my return and will therefore, get to your request as soon as I can. Sincerely,
Denise R. Haynes
Division Chief

Report Submitted:
Based on information provided by KCAC, a report about chipID scanners was created and submitted to the Board of Supervisors, the Commissioners as a group,
Dave Price III and Denise Haynes. The report suggests making chip scanners part of truck inventory to be carried in the field and questions the capabilities
of the scanners they are currently using. If these are older Home Again chip scanners as suspected, they will not read numbers from other chip manufacturers.
